It ultimately will come down to how hungry you are for more missions and some extra content, as the missions on show here are a lot of fun and very enjoyable no question about it. Though we also know there are extra passes in the works, as we have Season Two now. Sniper Elite 5 – Season Pass One is the lightest of the season passes we have had, especially when you look back at past titles in the series. These are fun to mess around with in single player or take online and wreak havoc with. Weapons fair a bit better with the pass, adding 6 new toys to the toy box, ranging from silenced sniper rifles to fire hose SMGs. On top of the missions there are also four new character skins, as well as 2 weapon camos – which are OK, but all a bit so-so as none of them really stand out as must haves. Overall the new missions add a good few hours extra to the game, as they are all vast and have more ways to get the task done than you would expect. You play a key part in the historical Operation Foxley, where you have one job… stop the Nazi leader’s reign of terror by any means, and we mean any. It is a hell of a fun time regardless, as you must infiltrate the Berghof – Hitler’s private mountain retreat in the Bavarian Alps. This way works out at around £45 and not the £30 of the pass though. It’s a bit of a misfire for hardcore fans, though you can buy each part of the pass separately if you don’t want to double dip. The final mission is a bit of a grey area, as you’ll have it already if you pre-ordered the game. Your mission here is to assassinate a high ranking General – who is hiding deep within the castle walls, so stealth and skill are key to victory. Taking you to the town of Falaise, where the Nazi forces are making their last stand at an iconic castle, once occupied by William the Conqueror. Mission two is Conqueror, and is loosely based on a real world engagement the Battle of the Falaise Pocket. The island is a fair size and full of points of interest like docks, a lighthouse and a ruined keep as well as the huge gun emplacement themselves. It’s up to you to blow them up one way or another, and if this all sounds a bit familiar there is a strong inspiration to classic war flick The Guns of Navarone. The first mission, Landing Force, sees you heading to the South of France where the Nazis have commandeered an island off the coast of Marseille to house a gargantuan gun battery. They send Fairburne once again behind enemy lines, risking it all to stop the Reich. The real meat of Sniper Elite 5 – Season Pass One is the 2 or 3 new missions, which is where you’ll get the most enjoyment from it. They have used the same format for Zombie Army 4, Strange Brigade and even Evil Genius 2. Now if you’re a fan of all things Rebellion, odds are high you are no stranger to this style of season pass. Sniper Elite 5 – Season Pass One will set you back £29.99 and will add 2 Campaign Missions, 6 Weapon Packs, 2 Weapon Skin Packs, and 2 Character Skin Packs, plus if you didn’t pre-order the game, you’ll also get the Target Führer mission – Wolf Mountain. Before we get to the recently finished second pass, there was a first pass that we will be looking at, that added a host of extra goodies to the game as well as some new missions.
