But I have bought whole computers for previous versions of Anno before since its the only series I play that has never had a Mac port. And while I will likely have to dual boot to play it, it's a bit daft to have to go and buy a copy of Windows for just one game. Why are you turning it into an exclusive thing? I am asking for a game to be ported over to a platform that has a long established customer base for a game like Anno. (Not argueing against a game ported to mac and having mac support, i hope this happens for more games, but it seems to me to not be that much of a problem.) Ok so it would be possible to play Anno anyway on MAC? I mean plaiyng a game like Anno inbetween work is not the standard. "yes we can boot dual boot but that’s a lot of hassle when you want want a quick session inbetween work." Or what i am getting from you is, that somehow city-builders are a MAC genre just because alternatives were unavailable. Same goes for Halo, which was released for consoles but later also MAC and Windows, doesnt make First Person Shooters suddenly a console genre.Īrgueing on that level seems like utter nonsense. And Sim City ( i assume which you are refering to) was available on about 2 dozen platforms, including the SNES.ĭont see how city-builders are then suddenly a core genre of MACOS. Before any game in the RTS genre was released on MAC, you had several on DOS and C64.Ī game being released on some platform doesnt make it a genre of said platform. I stumbled upon a list and went through it. i searched for the first real time strategy game as i forgot its name, only what it was about. Regardless this is a debate to push on the developers, not some random. Opprinnelig skrevet av Lord High Admiral Spire: The new Tomb Raider games all ran within a few frames difference of the Windows equivalents. I am pretty sure a Vega 64 has more than enough grunt to run this game. I have not said it should be exclusive to Mac, I am only wanting to push for this developer to get the other half of their potential player base on board. The first city builders where made for the Amiga and Mac before Windows existed, and still to this day its a genre many Mac users enjoy. That does not make it a mac genre, citybuilding games were made for PC it's just that most of them weren't very demanding so it could still work well on a mac if someone really wanted to. You would be right to say I would want a PC if I was playing some FPS. These are often just as popular as their Windows counterparts. As for the other poster, Macs have always had our share of city building games and RTS. Ubisoft does not commit to providing customer support for the demo.Opprinnelig skrevet av Ruka:Too answer Wooden King, yes we can boot dual boot but that’s a lot of hassle when you want want a quick session inbetween work.
